You should make sure the crib you have chosen conforms to all the guidelines for safety and that you have a good, firm mattress. If you keep to softer pastel colors such as blues, greens, pinks and yellows it may be more restful for baby.

You should ensure that all the bedding and everything in the room is clean and fresh. Keep baby’s bed clear and unobstructed by blankets, pillows or sheets to be certain that her face is clear at all times and there can be no danger of obstructing her breathing. You may feel a small foam wedge that’s positioned to keep the baby from rolling on her stomach would be beneficial. Keep stuffed animals and other toys out of the crib until your baby is a little older. Make the room a relaxed and enjoyable place to be. It is probably best to avoid any strong scents but if you want something like lavender, keep it light. Nothing too overpowering.
